What We Do
Since its inception in 1980, Friends has provided the Ridgewood Public Library with vital funds that supplement the operating budget. These funds provide so much more than books and media!

  • Reel Voices Documentary Film Festival
  • Children’s Storytimes, Crafts & Concerts
  • English as a Second Language Program
  • Teen Events: Tech Club, Creative Writing
  • Free Museum Passes including MoMA, Intrepid, Morris Museum, Storm King & Frick
  • E-Magazines & Streaming Movies including
    Kanopy & Hoopla
  • A Bend in the Road Podcast
  • All Lectures and Cultural Events
  • Sunday Concert Series
  • Age Friendly programs for 55+ community

How We Do It
The Friends’ three annual fundraisers are:

Reading Marathon, and the rolling Annual Appeal.

What We Do
RPLF provides essential funding to continually build & maintain a state-of-the–art library. This includes adding to the technology offerings, supporting strategic facility and spacing improvements to adapt to the changing needs of our community.

Your Donations at Work:

  • All-New Teen Room, bigger and brighter for updated seating, computers, books
  • Library of Things Collection of over 120 items
    including home repair, A/V, outdoor/indoor games, hotspots, and MakerSpace & Stem tools
  • New Microfilm Reader-Scanner
  • Accessibility Upgrade: Wireless Microphones and Assistive Listening Devices

And Looking ahead:

  • New Adult Areas for browsing & reading
  • Small office and meeting spaces on the mezzanine

How We Do It
In addition to our Fall Annual Appeal, RPLF accepts donations throughout the year via email and social media communications which highlight the latest upgrades and additions at work at the library. RPLF also hosts a large summer fundraiser every other year  to raise awareness of future needs.
